With great joy, a mass was celebrated last Friday by Father Severino Ramos, priest of São José da Laje. We have a lot to be thankful for and commemorate.

On the 2nd of July, the River Canhoto overflowed, bringing great loss and destruction. There was up to 50 feet of water and mud within the plant. We were left with no power, water, access or communication. But sadness did not hinder us. With a lot of grit, the entire team worked hard, including the help of partners from the Usina Trapiche and, with God’s blessing, the Usina Serra Grande could sound its loud and vibrant whistle that always fills us with emotion.
