Looking at tomorrow

We understand education is an essential part of life. It starts in the family and extends to school life. As a contribution to the education of children living in our region, the plants provide with their own resources schools for the employees' children from Kindergarten and Elementary School I (up to 5th grade). There are approximately 300 students at Serra Grande and 900 at Trapiche.

The schools are running a project which is monitored by an agronomist and IPMA (Instituto de Preservação da Mata Atlântica), where children are guided towards knowledge and respect for the environment. The orchard's products in turn enrich school lunch, together with balanced multi-mixes in order to meet the children's nutritional needs. Under the guidance of a dentist in each local municipality, there is also a concern with oral health, students being encouraged and guided by teachers to brush at school.
